Smart Personal Air Purifier

The Product: A small air purifier is designed for everyday use for those in polluted areas or with allergic sensitivities. Coupled with the phone app, this product filters air that is breathed in through the nose while its innovative sensors monitor local air quality and deliver real-time alerts about the air you are breathing.

Design & Innovation: Custom-designed filters keep out pollens, allergens, and dangerous particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) and are easily replaced by the user. The unique shape of the nose buds provides a tight seal and a comfortable fit. They are available in three different sizes to accommodate different nose shapes.

The Product: A patient monitoring and engagement tool that uses a cloud-based wearable device using light-touch hardware, software, and services to keep patients engaged with their health and integrate individual health data into electronic medical records..

Design & Development: Comprehensive architecture planning, engineering and design of both the wearable health band and the charging case ecosystem for full production. Oversight and management for sourcing, optimization, prototype testing, and manufacturability.

Our Role: Product Architecture, Product Surfacing, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/RF Engineering, Software Engineering, Manufacturing Support.

Multi-stream human-to-human, human-to-machine, and filtered raw audio.

The Product: Wearable to track athletic on-field performance and provide real time feedback (i.e. tracking & monitoring) and analytics to trainers and coaches Route-running accuracy, speed, hydration, etc.

Design & Development: Proof of concept with 60 devices and complete portable field system and testing. Applying multiple tracking technologies, radio with on-the-field infrastructure system – wearables provide data (location & biometrics) that gets relayed to sideline hub, then uploaded to cloud. This was achieved by using a single tracking and RF technology (UWB: Ultra-Wide Band) vs. multiple bandwidths.

The Product: This Robotic Radiosurgery System is designed to treat tumors anywhere in the body with sub-millimeter accuracy.

Design & Development: Our job was to reduce number of parts to simplify the test process and reduce calibration cycle time. Surfaceink’s ideal solution took the form of a test block without any removable hardware and just two thumb latches that were self-contained. Cycle time for setup and test was reduced fivefold.

Our Role: Mechanical Engineering, Durability Testing and DFM (local manufacturing support)
